The Church of St John the Baptist at Heck
The church at Heck was established when the vicar of Hensall, Rev E H Bryan, felt that Hensall church did not fulfill his Anglo-Catholic beliefs. He was heavily influenced by the "Oxford Movement" which sought to rediscover the catholic practices of the Church of England.
The church at Heck is not a parish church but is rather a Chapel of Ease for the Church at Hensall. The church was re-ordered within the last ten years to include a kitchen and toilet, as well as flexible seating. It has a light and colourful aspect, and is perfect for reflective worship. It is an ideal building to use for individual and parish retreats/quiet days. If you are interested in using Heck church, please contact the rector in the first instance.
From the A645 turn left onto Long Lane, follwoing the sign for "Great Heck". The church is at the very bottom of Long Lane at the junction with Main Street.
There is plenty of on street parking in front of the church.
